Wedding Preparation
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here…” These first few words of invitation at the beginning of a wedding ceremony call us together to thank God for the partnership of husband and wife in the sight of God and His people.
At St. John, we value the significance of this relationship and are available to help you prepare for this very important day, and pray that your wedding will be a worshipful event.
We are excited to help you plan this very important day and offer our encouragement in any way we can. Regardless of church membership, you can be married at St. John.
Weddings at St. John:
Planning to get married soon? Please contact the church office to reserve a date on the calendar for your wedding. In preparation for your wedding the couple will meet with one of the pastors (as soon as the wedding is scheduled) and following that time a series of three sessions with one of the counselors with the Biblical Counselors group will be scheduled. A wedding policy booklet which outlines more specific information about weddings at St. John is available from Lorene in the church office.
Pre-Marital Counseling: Couples being married at St. John participate in a program of pre-marital counseling. The couple fills out an online inventory, followed by three (3) one-hour sessions with the counselor. We use the Prepare/Enrich Premarital and Marriage Inventory. Contact the assistant to the senior pastor for more information about this inventory.
