St. John Sunday School Program
In Scripture, God calls all His people to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. St John Lutheran Church offers a variety of educational programs for all ages. Whether it is for an 18-month old just starting their education, or an adult who wants to build their faith through study in God’s Word, we hope to offer you a program that will suit your needs.
9:30 a.m. Sunday Mornings
18 Month—4th Grade (Children’s Ministry Center)
We really enjoy meeting children who are visiting or coming to Sunday school for the first time. You will find leaders in the large group area in the Children’s Ministry Center who will guide you to the right class. Large group presenters and also Buzz, Gordy and Albie along with other puppets, are used to help teach the Bible lessons. Children are divided into small groups led by a shepherd (teacher) who helps them apply God’s truth to their lives. The lessons use all the children’s senses. Children also take home a God Talk sheet so families can continue the lesson discussion at home.
5th—6th Grade (Fellowship Center—Upstairs Room 205)
An engaging large group presentation is made to share the main point . The students meet in small groups for Bible discovery and application, examining issues faced by young people. Adult shepherds really get to know the kids in their group as they discuss and help students apply God’s word to their life.
7th—8th Grade (Fellowship Center—Upstairs Room 202)
No matter where junior high students are in their spiritual journey, they have an inquisitive mind with an overwhelming desire for real relationships. We use curriculum that plunges them into the Bible to get answers to their biggest questions about God, others, and themselves. The students are divided up in to small groups to discuss and apply the lesson following the large group time.
High School (Fellowship Center—Youth Room)
Our Senior High Youth tackle a number of topics current to today’s teens. Led by our Youth Minister, Jon Zoch, the youth are free to ask real-life questions and receive answers from their peers from a Christian perspective.
Adult Education—9:30 a.m. & 11 a.m.
We offer a wide variety of adult Bible classes ranging from topical studies to in-depth Bible studies. A current schedule with topics and locations can be found in the weekly bulletin insert Abundant Life Opportunities and here on our website
