St. John Lutheran Church women's organizations

St. John Lutheran Women’s Missionary League - LWML (evening group) meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. We begin with fellowship and food followed by a devotion and meeting.

Some of our projects each year are Love Packages to our college students, Confirmand Prayer Partners, providing Mustard Seeds to all new members, Senior Citizen’s Day, Care Baskets, New Mother Gifts and the LWML Bookstore. Our main fund-raiser is our Annual Turkey Supper serving approximately 1500 people. We have an annual Bunco Party that everyone enjoys and is open to all women of the church.

Dorcas Guild (morning group) meets the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Their primary objective is making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. They begin with fellowship and food, followed by a devotion and business meeting.

The object of these women's societies are to foster and support the program and object of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League – Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, Mission Service; To promote growth in Christian Knowledge; To further a love for and to help provide for active participation in Christian service; To foster Christian fellowship; To cooperate with St. John Lutheran Church in its ministry to build the Kingdom of God (Christ).
