St. John Church Library & Bookstore
Library
Our Church Library, located in the Administration Center, is open from 8 a.m. until noon each Sunday and during regular office hours. The library contains over 1,600 books on a wide variety of topics including theology, devotions, family life, Lutheran history, church doctrines, Christian history, history of Biblical events, other religions, Christian fiction, and classic literature. It also contains a children’s section offering Bible stories, Christian fiction series, and classic literature. Any member may check out a book, by writing your name and date on the book card located inside the book and placing the card in the file box. The Library is in the Adult Ministry Center (formerly Education Building) next to the nursery.
Books are arranged according to the Dewey classification system. The card catalog is currently being input into our recently donated computer and will be a work in progress for a while. Please bear with us. Searching for material will be available by author, title and subject.
All materials may be borrowed from the Library. They are due one month after their checkout date. Make your selection, remove the card found in front of the book (in most cases), write your name and checkout date on the card. Then place the card in the small file box located on the shelf near the book returns.
Returning the material is easy. Place the material on the shelf marked “Book Returns”. Please limit checkout time to one month.
Bookstore
St. John also has a gift shop/bookstore where a wide variety of Christian gifts and books are available. The bookstore is located in the Parlor building just outside the sanctuary and is open 8 a.m. until noon each Sunday.
