Bible Study and Growing in the Word

Men’s Bible Study—8 a.m. Saturday (Administration Center)

This discussion-oriented Bible study allows men to gather each week and sharpen each other in God’s Word.  Donuts, coffee, and fellowship are served.

Women’s Bible Studies

St. John offers a variety of women’s Bible studies throughout the year, including weekly studies located both on our campus and at the homes of our members. Class topics and times vary.  Check the Abundant Life Opportunitiesor here for a current schedule.

Joyful Seekers—9:30 a.m. Wednesday (Fellowship Center— Serving Area)

Everyone is invited to this study of the books of the Bible.

Confirmation

A three-year process to prepare our youth to confirm their faith and to receive the Lord’s Supper.  Study of the Old Testament (Year One), the New Testament (Year Two), and Luther’s Small Catechism (Year Three) make up this curriculum. Classes are held on Sunday evening from 6–8 p.m. beginning in August and ending in May.  Breaks are taken for vacations and special events.

Abundant Life (AL)-101—5-7 p.m. Sunday (Admin. Center)

A three-week Bible Study of the basics of the Christian faith.  Our relationship with God (up) is the foundation for our connection with one another (in) and the motivation for sharing this abundant life with others (out).

AL-101 is designed for those who come to St. John who are not members of a sister Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LC-MS) congregation, however all are invited to attend as a review of the basics of the Christian faith as confessed by the Lutheran Confessions.  Child care is provided.

Abundant Life (AL)-201—5-7 p.m. Sunday (Admin. Center)

“Doorways” is a one-night Bible Study offering an introduction to the “up, in, out” triangle and St. John’s mission, “Living and Sharing the Abundant Life of Jesus.”

Our pastors and staff lead this event for all people who wish to become members of St. John—whether by transfer from another LC-MS congregation, by adult confirmation or by affirmation of faith.   Childcare is provided.
